You started setting up your profile and want to know what you can do to stand out more? Here are some of our suggestions to build a successful profile.
First, let's make sure you pick the right setting to start recording. Choose a background with a solid colour, preferably a white wall. If you don't have one available to you, you can also opt for something like a large single coloured closet. Make sure there is plenty of light, and your face is well lit. Place your camera at eye level to make perfect eye contact with the person watching your video. Film horizontally (landscape-style); some casting directors decide not to present vertical (portrait-style) videos. It would be a shame if you missed out on an opportunity for this reason.
Now that we have the technical side covered, let's discuss how you can make your video a success. Choose a simple and solid colour outfit; pastel colours are most preferable. Keep it natural, and don't wear full makeup, dark lipstick in particular. We want to see your hair, eyes and face so don't wear a hat, sunglasses or a face mask. Don't wear items that draw attention away from your face, such as flashy jewellery or outfits.
And most importantly, be you! Have a positive attitude; this is your first impression, so show us those good vibes and make a lasting impression. Good luck!
There are a couple of basic rules you should keep in mind for your pictures. We would like you to only upload pictures of yourself. So don't use photos with your friends or family. Of course, we want to be able to see you clearly, so don't wear a hat, facemask, sunglasses or any other accessories that hide part of your face. This means you also shouldn't use any filtered images. We want to see you as you are. Don't use pictures from events such as gala's, weddings, etc. And our last suggestion; use photos in which you're looking directly into the camera and not to the side.
Can you skateboard, juggle, or ride a unicycle? Amazing! Let us know what kind of special skills you have. This can be anything, from writing beautiful graffiti or racing horses to breakdancing or karate. Casting directors can have specific requests, and it is great if we know that you have the skills to fit a role.
